Goblin Valley - Family Trip Part I

Last month, the family decided to venture to my neck of the woods for an October adventure in the desert. I promised them mind-melting visuals, breathtaking spaces and perfect solitude.

The majority of the trip would be spent floating through Labyrinth Canyon on a canoe camping expedition. However, the first stop of the journey was Goblin Valley. After seeing all the photos I'd been posting from Goblin over the years, mom demanded we make a detour for the night on our way to Moab.

The sun rose the next morning and the strange formations overwhelmed as we set out for the spectacular Little Wild Horse Canyon. We explored the slot for an hour or so before returning to the truck and heading to the park to walk amongst the Goblins.

If routinely seeing these alien shapes eventually leaves one jaded, I haven't yet hit that point. Goblin Valley exudes freaky magic, and I can't wait to return to this special place.
