Labyrinth Canyon - Family Trip Part II
Floating the still waters of the Green River through canyon country sits on top of many bucket lists and best-of's. It truly is an idyllic journey - paddling beneath massive rock walls and winding through eroded plateaus on your way to find a sandbar or wash to call home for the night.
Our family of four arrived with a variety of water vessels. My sister captained a sea kayak while my parents took up residence in an Old Town Discover that would take the title of the week's workhorse. Huxley and I shared a petite canoe for two, a new addition to my outdoor quiver and one that I'm excited to let open up many more water activities next summer.
After loading up each boat we pushed off and bid farewell to the truck, with plans to see it again in five days. Civilization quickly vanished and we were doing it. Paddling, floating, taking photos, drinking, eating like kings, catching up, hiking side canyons, relaxing, finding the best campsites, swimming and just enjoying the simple and scenic way of the world.
